Welcome to Graduate America
Your safety, security, and wellness are among our top priorities. We are committed to creating a learning environment that is respectful, inclusive, and safe. Below are key resources, policies, and procedures we provide to support our campus community.
Sexual Misconduct & Harassment
We do not tolerate sexual discrimination, harassment, or retaliation. Our policies cover sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, and other related misconduct.
We provide:
A formal policy outlining prohibited behavior
Detailed procedures for reporting incidents
Anonymous or confidential reporting options
Contact information for Title IX or Compliance Officers
Hazardous Behavior & Hazing
We uphold a strict policy against hazing in any form. Educational programs are in place to increase awareness, promote prevention, and enforce appropriate sanctions if hazing occurs.
Bystander Intervention
We encourage everyone in the campus community to act when they see something wrong. This might include:
Speaking up when safe to do so
Distracting or creating a diversion
Reaching out to others to help intervene
Risk Reduction Practices
To help protect yourself and others, here are some precautionary tips:
Know your surroundings and trust your instincts
Avoid leaving drinks unattended or accepting drinks from people you don’t know well
Use the buddy system, especially when going out
Stay aware of warning signs in relationships—communication control, isolation, coercion, etc.
We maintain a comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (EMP) to address situations such as:
Violent intruders or active threats
Fires
Severe weather or natural disasters
Our plan describes protocols for alerting the community, locking down buildings, evacuating, and directing people to safety. Detailed appendices and procedures are available by specific campus location.
Mental Health & Crisis Resources
Support is available for mental wellness including confidential lines, counseling services, and crisis hotlines.
Substance Use & Abuse Prevention
We are committed to a drug- and alcohol-free environment. Resources are available for prevention education and assistance.
Other Health Resources
We also offer resources for sexual health, general wellness, eating disorders, and stress management.
Clery Act / Safety Reporting
We comply with laws like the Clery Act, which require institutions to publish annual security reports, disclose campus crime stats, and provide safety policies and procedures.
Emergency Notifications
We maintain a mass-notification system for campus alerts. Students, staff, and visitors may be notified via phone, text, email, or other methods depending on their preference.
Safety support and resources can vary somewhat by campus. We provide campus-specific emergency response plans, contacts, and procedures to ensure each site is prepared and equipped.
